What is baptism?
Jesus was baptized. Since then, millions of his followers have followed his example. Baptism is a way for you to do the same and participate in a common experience with Jesus followers around the world.
Baptism is a way to go public with your faith to show others that you have started a personal relationship with Jesus.
Baptism symbolizes the new life you began when you started following Jesus. It symbolizes your old life dying (going under the water) and your new life (coming out of the water).
What does it mean to accept Jesus?
We want everyone that comes to White Flag to know that the most important thing in life is your relationship with Jesus. He demonstrated His love for everyone on earth when he died on the cross for our sins. He came to help us get rid of all the hurt and pain caused by our disobedience. If you wondering how to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Bible shows us the way
Admit that God hasn’t had first place in your life and that you’ve done things your own way. The Bible calls this repentance (Acts 2:38)
Believe that Jesus came, lived and died so that you could have forgiveness of sins (Romans 10:9).
Confess Jesus as the Lord and Savior of your life (Romans 10:9).
Demonstrate your faith in Christ by being Baptized (Acts 2:38).
Where can I get baptized?
You can get baptized during any of our services or at any time outside of services that is scheduled with one of our pastors or staff members. We have a heated baptismal pool, an area for changing and everything else you will need!
Why do you baptize by immersion?
Jesus was baptized that way and every baptism in the Bible was done by immersion. In fact, the word "baptize" means to "dip/immerse in water."
What about infant baptism/christening?
At White Flag Church, we wait until our children are old enough to believe and understand the true meaning of baptism before we baptize them.
CHILD DEDICATION—Though we do not baptize infants, we do have a service in which they are dedicated. This gives parents an opportunity to say before the congregation and God that they will partner with the Church in raising their child(ren) in a Christian home by modeling Christian faith and teaching Christian principles.
For more information on how we partner with parents to raise their children to have a growing relationship with Jesus, please visit our Family Ministry pages.
If you have a question not answered here and/or would like to speak with someone, we'd love to talk with you. Please contact us, and a member of our staff will reach out to you.
