This two-day conference provides practical teaching tools to equip professionals* and families to help bring hope and healing to any child that has experienced trauma or the loss of parental care. It features Trust-Based Relational InterventionⓇ methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University.
Some of the takeaways from this event include:
•To understand the risk factors that result in trauma and the impact it has on a child.
•A set of principles and strategies to help parents and professionals offer tools to bring healing to the effects of trauma.
•Exposure to children's sensory needs and the tools and activities to assist with sensory development and processing.
•To understand the importance of processing one's own history to be able to assist a child in processing his/her history.
