God's Sovereignty + Man's Responsibility (Behind Enemy Lines: Week 2)
Speaker: Steve Wolf Series: Behind Enemy Lines (2026) Scripture: Daniel 2:1–49, Psalm 27:8, Isaiah 42:8, 1 Peter 3:15
In week two of our "Behind Enemy Lines" series through Daniel 1-6, we dive into Daniel chapter 2 — the story of King Nebuchadnezzar's troubling dream, the statue of gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay, and the rock that becomes a mountain. This message unpacks the tension every believer lives in: God is completely sovereign, yet we still carry real responsibility to obey, trust, and glorify Him no matter our circumstances.
Through Daniel's example — his calm response under a death sentence, his instinct to pray before he acted, and his refusal to take credit for God's work — we see what it looks like to remain faithful behind enemy lines. We close with three responsibilities every Christ-follower carries: obey God regardless of the cost, give God alone the glory, and stand firm in truth with wisdom, love, and grace.
