APRIL 29, 2020

Just as we’re learning to be Anxious for Nothing, we’re starting to see the light at the end of this COVID-19 tunnel. The process of reopening our area and the country is starting, and this is providing us with a great deal of hope for being back together soon.

Reopening White Flag

While we do not have a specific timeline in place, the changes to the restrictions in our state are allowing us to start the planning process for when we will reopen the church building. We know you’re curious what that will look like and when that will be happening. Here is what we will be monitoring over the next couple of weeks as we move towards the goal of worshipping together again:

  • When are stay-at-home orders lifted for the White Flag area?
  • What restrictions are in place for large gatherings?
  • When and how can we open our doors in a way that is safest for everyone involved?

We absolutely want to reopen as soon as possible; however, we will not open until it’s safe and we’re able to provide an experience that is as close to our normal, excellent experience as possible.

As we have from the very beginning of this situation, we will follow the advice and directives of our healthcare and government officials. Our focus will continue to not be just on what we’re allowed to do, but on what is best for us to do. We will continue to provide regular updates to you through our social media channels, mobile app, email updates and website – be sure to connect with all of our platforms to stay informed!

Anxious for Nothing Continues

In the meantime, we will continue our Anxious for Nothing series this weekend with Paul’s third message in the series: Leave Your Concerns with Him. Remember, you have flexibility both in when you can tune in, and also, where you can tune in (especially helpful if you experience any technical issues).

Mother’s Day

After this weekend, we’ll press pause on Anxious for Nothing so we can celebrate Mother’s Day! It will look different, but the intent will be the same: honor the important role our moms play every day, especially throughout these trying, unprecedented times.

We are going to take advantage of the opportunity to make our service this year very special and unique. It will be a service for moms and by the moms of White Flag and will be a great celebration of the ones who “surpass them all” (Proverbs 31).

Also, don’t worry, COVID won’t keep us from loving our moms with a special gift from White Flag! Next week, we will be announcing details of a special drive-thru celebration of moms that will take place at White Flag on Mother’s Day afternoon!

Online Giving

Thank you for your faithful giving to White Flag, even while we’ve been physically apart. By keeping up with your regular tithes and offerings as well continuing your Go Beyond contributions through our online giving platform, we’ve been able to stay on mission during a time that the church is as important to the community as ever!

Remember, we are still able to provide any assistance you may need in setting up your giving. Please contact our finance director, Gayla Shaffer, by calling the church office (314.846.2110) or via email at finance@whiteflag.church

Summer Camps

We are working closely with High Hill Christian Camp and Christ in Youth as we navigate how this summer will look for camps during COVID-19. As new decisions are made, we will let you know if a camp is cancelled or rescheduled (including Preschool Camp and Sports Camp). Click here for more information.
